We have an exciting opportunity within our Regulatory Conduct & Risk Assurance Team to play a key role in supporting the Bank to deliver its strategy for our customers and ensure that we align to Regulators’ requirements as they relate to the Bank’s products, and distribution channels.

What you’ll be doing Provide insight into the overall direction the Regulators are taking as relevant to banking products and services and their view of current and horizon risks as they relate to the Bank.  You will keep abreast of regulatory developments and ensure that relevant business areas are provided with timely notification of changes within the regulatory environment as they relate to conduct and regulatory risk and developing areas of interest which could have an impact on the Bank’s wider business strategy. Supporting customers and senior management by providing 2nd line oversight of the Bank as it develops new and exciting customer products, processes, and journeys to delight its customers.  Your primary focus will be to ensure that we achieve good outcomes for our customers and that the Bank is able to identify and mitigate any conduct and regulatory risks. Providing conduct and regulatory opinion, guidance, and independent challenge to the 1st line of policy, process, systems, and procedures to ensure compliance with current and evolving, internal and external regulatory standards. Representing Regulatory Conduct & Risk Assurance on relevant projects (mandatory change, strategic change, and review/remediation) and offer effective 2nd line oversight and challenge to the 1st line. Overseeing and challenging the conduct and regulatory risk profile, risk appetite, reporting and MI as it relates to the Bank. Conduct regular analysis and review of relevant MI with a view to provide challenge to business units on its status and quality and actions being taken to mitigate potential customer harms. Completing relevant reporting to ensure that stakeholders have an accurate and up-to-date understanding of the 2nd line opinion of the risk profile of the Bank. Establish, build, and maintain strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. We need you to have At least two years’ experience working in financial services in a compliance or risk function. An in-depth understanding of the UK conduct regulatory environment and applicable Regulations, Codes, and compliance requirements particularly as they relate to regulated products (e.g., PSD2, BCOBS, CONC and the Standards of Lending Practice). A successful track record of presenting to, interacting with and building trusted relationships with key internal stakeholders, business partners and relevant external agencies such as Regulators and trade bodies. Ability to manage the needs of multiple senior stakeholders and deal with competing priorities. Ability to negotiate and challenge the Business with a view to mitigating the risk of customer harm and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and guidance. Excellent written / verbal communication skills. It’s a bonus if you have but not essential Working knowledge of regulated products, services and customer journeys. A good level of knowledge of regulation and industry policies pertaining to Regulatory & Compliance and Conduct Risk. SME knowledge of Risk Management Frameworks and regulatory requirements as they relate to the line of business, risk processes, methodology, standards, protocols. Utilising MI / analytical reporting tools.
