The role
As a Senior Configuration Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. A significant programme of infrastructure investment is required on the Devonport site to meet the needs of the future MOD ship and submarine programmes. The Major Infrastructure Projects (MIP) Business Unit has been established to deliver a portfolio of facility development projects including the design, build and commission of docking and berthing facilities for Astute Class submarine maintenance activities.
Day-to-day, you’ll ensure compliance within configuration management processes is maintained across allocated Project(s).
Provide team leadership and the maintenance of health, safety and welfare standards. Provide document management support in line with Technical and Business Governance and Building Information Modelling (BIM) requirements. Stakeholder engagement on Configuration Management and document control activities.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.
Essential experience of the Senior Configuration Engineer
Configuration Management (or similar) experience in a regulated environment. Understanding of relational database methodology. Methodical thinker with a keen eye for detail. Excellent communication and organisational skills. Ability to prioritise, and work on your own initiative with a flexible attitude.
Qualifications for the Senior Configuration Engineer
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent. CM2-C certified or willing to work towards gaining qualification.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPPI) security clearance for this role.
