We are seeking an Engineer/Configuration Manager (CM) to support defense programs for DoD acquisition, production, and sustainment programs. You will serve as subject matter expert for the CM program. The ideal candidate will have a knowledge of a variety of engineering disciplines including mechanical and systems engineering methods, principles, requirements, work techniques, and skill in applying standardized, analytical, and evaluative methods and techniques sufficient to: a) advise on and/or resolve difficult but well-precedented, factual, procedural, and/or recurring issues; b) make informed decisions on problems and issues; and c) analyze segments of broader issues or problems (e.g., the impact of a change in one area on the entire system).


As the Engineer/Configuration Manager, you will create and/or maintain the technical configuration for the program. You will be responsible for extracting data from engineering drawings, specifications, and various other types of technical documentation used to procure, inspect, or package material for initial configuration database creation or updating and maintenance of the already created database. You will conduct detailed evaluation and analysis of data submitted by engineering elements to assure adequacy for configuration management purposes and ensure the data is complete, consistent, and accurate. This process includes review and analysis of drawings, engineering parts lists or associated lists, item specifications, special packaging data, and security requirements.


You will support configuration management planning, as well as describe provisions for configuration identification, change control, configuration status accounting, and configuration audits. You will write, maintain, and update CM planning documents to include government Configuration Management Plans, Configuration Control Board (CCB) charters, data management plans, configuration audit plans, and Intellectual Property (IP) strategies. You will prepare, release, and control CM technical data baselines that includes drawings, models, specifications, interfaces, and software. You will prepare and review Engineering Change Proposals (ECP), Notices of Revision (NOR), Engineering Release Records (ERR), and Requests for Variance (RFV). In addition, you will support planning and conduct of functional and physical configuration audits (FCAs and PCAs).


Required

BS or BA degreeMinimum 8 years’ experience performing Configuration Management dutiesKnowledge of DOD Technical Data Package practices and American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Drawing StandardsKnowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing principalsFamiliarity with MIL-HDBK-61 and EIA 649Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
