The Construction Inspector is responsible for overseeing the construction activity for public infrastructure for projects for public, private and municipal utility district clients, including water/wastewater projects, residential subdivisions and commercial developments, as well as coordinate related field matters to assist the Construction Manager in the execution of the Construction Management Plan. 

Responsibilities Monitor and document the contractor's timely execution of work and conformity with approved plans and specificationsReview material inspection reports conducted by others Monitor work sites to identify potential environmental or safety hazardsAct as engineer's representative in the observation and inspection of construction activitiesMaintain and submit daily logs and supplement records with photosMeasure dimensions and verify level, alignment or elevation of structures to ensure compliance to plans and specificationsAssist in coordinating and validating field information to resolve open issuesIdentify potential coordination and quality issuesParticipate in and potentially lead routine progress meetings in the field Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering, construction science, construction management or construction technology from an ABET-accredited college or university, preferred OR a minimum of 10 years of performing civil construction observations, such as earthwork, water systems, sanitary sewer systems and pavingKnowledge of state and local rules, regulations, specifications and guidance documents related to civil construction itemsAbility to read and interpret contract documents, construction plans and specificationsPossess effective verbal and written communication skillsWorking knowledge of MS Word and MS ExcelExceptional client relationship skills with the ability to develop and maintain professional relationshipsAbility to manage priorities with changing job tasks and deadlines to meet client expectationsAbility to operate a motor vehicle in the state of Texas and follow local, state and federal regulations for operating a motor vehicle Must be able to work in various weather conditions and work environmentsMust be able to work 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday and overtime as needed; to include weekends
