This position will support the Global Facilities function for the Americas Region, focusing most effort on the San Diego, CA site and will provide leadership in construction project management execution at multiple project scales and delivery methods in an energetic and fast-paced lab and manufacturing environment.
As a Senior Construction Project Manager, you will lead, plan, execute, monitor, and control projects through completion and occupancy according to the specifications and deadlines, all while keeping the project within prescribed budget. The ideal candidate for this role has proven ability to identify and resolve issues resourcefully and independently, and will work to understand key business drivers, applying this knowledge to decision making.
Responsibilities:
Communicating and managing changes to design objectives with the planners, architect, engineer, and/or general contractorEngaging and partnering closely with facility operations and engineering leaders to align the project deliverables to the regional business needsContemplating and incorporating the lifecycle management needs of equipment and spaces into design documents and built environmentCreating schedules and managing all aspects of project design, management, and inspecting all installed work to assure compliance with plans and specifications, throughout the entire projectDelivering the project according to budget and schedule, assessing project risk and performing value engineering when needed,Managing both Capital and Operational budget and expense accounting for projects including reporting on financial forecast, project accruals, change orders and pay applicationsCollaborating with internal key stakeholders and managing third-party consultants and vendorsDaily operational support and other duties as needed or assignedHigh level of organization, detail-orientation, initiative, motivation, and reliabilityAble to work independently to manage time and perform within required deadlines, managing business prioritiesExcellent negotiation, organizational, interpersonal and problem-solving skillsComfort with ambiguity and effectiveness during periods of uncertainty and changeAble to clearly communicate cross functionally about complex equipment system concepts with team members, other stakeholders and 3rd partiesBuilds effective working relationships with peers and customers to influence decision making process towards business objective and stakeholder requirementAble to plan for contingencies to overcome obstacles, setbacks and uncertainties to ensure delivery of resultsRequirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or other related discipline preferredMinimum of 5 years project experience working in the construction industry requiredMust be able to read and understand construction drawings and specifications and the preparation of diagrams, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and schedulesMust understand principles and practices of construction and contract administration, architectural and engineering disciplinesMust work well independently in a highly collaborative environment with minimal directionMust exhibit leadership and decision-making skills and comfort in fast paced environmentGeneral understanding of architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and engineering conceptsGeneral understanding of Building Codes, Mechanical Codes, Electrical Codes, and Plumbing Codes as they relate to construction of projectsDemonstrated analytical and critical thinking problem-solving skills,Demonstrated strategic enterprise thinking, finding innovative ways to deliver results, and build trust,Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word, Teams, Sharepoint, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project)Experience with Revit, CAD drafting and Bluebeam advantageousDemonstrated analytical and problem-solving skillsExperience on the Facility Owner or occupant side of construction management is preferredThe estimated base salary range for the Senior Construction Project Manager role based in the United States of America is: $88,200 - $132,400. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
