Senior Construction/Project Manager - Healthcare
We’re looking for a senior level Construction Project Manager for the York / southeastern region of PA; this person will have the background and experience to hit the ground running with minimal training and oversight by the client. Owners-side experience is preferred, with the ability to lead the coordination of multiple construction projects, of varying types and sizes, in occupied healthcare facilities located throughout the York, PA region, including Chambersburg, Gettysburg, Waynesboro and Ephrata. Oversight of construction activities on multi-phase hospital renovations will be typical and will include such activities as monitoring contractor adherence to safety plans, facility safety, and ICRA requirements, working with facility engineering teams daily and tracking progress of work for adherence to contractor schedules. You will be responsible for driving schedules, mitigating risks, and resolving site issues that might otherwise cause delays in overall scheduling requirements. You’ll review monthly contractor invoices and provide recommendations for payment as well as review contractor forecasts and monthly schedule updates, providing feedback wherever needed. You’ll review contractor’s change orders and provide recommendations for justification and cost and monitor project documentation including submittals, RFIs, bulletins, contract changes, and invoices. Most importantly, you’ll take action to ensure the safety, health and well-being of your internal and external team and the surrounding environment. Strong but effective leadership and people management skills are required in order to take ownership of the projects in a way that fosters cooperation and buy in by various teams and individuals. You will place a high priority on promoting safety across all projects being managed, and a strong commitment to keeping them on schedule and within budget. You will represent the face of Jacobs to the Client and your role will be invaluable to the success of the project. In turn, you will have infinite access to Jacobs resources and expertise, locally and across the country, to support your efforts throughout the project.  • Bachelor of Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management • 10-15+ years’ experience as a Construction Manager, with at least 5 of those being in healthcare clinical spaces, and with responsibility for three (3) or more phases of construction namely pre-design, design, procurement, construction, and post-construction phases • Strong construction contract knowledge and ability to mitigate risk • Practical experience with project controls, change order management, claims management/mitigation, and dispute resolution. • Practical experience with master schedule development and updating. • Practice experience with master budget development and tracking. • Practical experience with bid support/RFQ-RFP development. • Practical experience with overseeing field inspections and QA/QC processes. • Ability to read and interpret construction documents and specifications with strong working knowledge of ICRA and ILSM standards, building codes, NFPA, FGI Guidelines and OSHA requirements • Excellent leadership, analytical, organizational, planning, delegation, coaching, communication (verbal, written and interpersonal) • MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) skills • OSHA 40 • Experience with activation and transition services is desired but not required. • Experience with Projecto is desired but not required.
