Role / Department:
Reporting to the Head of Financial Reporting in Guernsey, the Financial Reporting team are responsible for preparation of annual statutory accounts and interim reporting for NTs fund and fiduciary client base. These are prepared in accordance with UK GAAP, IFRS or other accounting standards and include management of the audit process for a diverse pool of entities including Companies, Trusts and Limited Partnerships registered in various jurisdictions. The Guernsey based team specialise in the preparation of Closed ended London Listed investment funds, as well as funds listed on AIM and TISEA.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
• Subject Matter Expert in financial reporting for London Listed funds, with a hands-on approach to delivering departmental aims.
• Review of financial statements, quarterly budgets and dividend calculations for investment funds
• Attendance and presentation of accounts at Board / Client meetings.
• Acting as key point of contact for external non-executive directors of London Listed Closed Ended funds, including drafting corporate governance disclosures as required by FRC/AIC code.
• Management of the external audit process, from resolving audit queries to networking with audit sign off partners
• Responsible to provide unrivalled client service
• Responsible for the production, accuracy, and timely delivery of interim and annual financial statements allocated, in addition to completion of various tax reporting requirements for clients.
• Coordinate the accounting process to deliver quality and timeliness of deliverables while following internal policies and procedures.
• Hands on leadership of staff in the resolution of non-routine and complex client reporting issues.
• Committed and working as a team member to support and enhance cross-functional communication and knowledge to achieve company success.
• Keep abreast of industry and regulatory developments.
• People Management duties – participation in Partners Performance Reviews for team, delivery of training and coaching, other administration duties for staff employed in the team, recruitment, and conducting probationary reviews. Cross jurisdictional team work – Ireland / Luxembourg / Chicago / Manila (physical travel off island is infrequent).
• Identify and deliver opportunities to improve productivity and quality within the department
Skills/ Qualifications:
The successful candidate will benefit from having:
• Hold an Accounting Qualification (ACCA or equivalent)
• Detailed knowledge of offshore funds administration including for closed ended London listed investment funds.
• Proven experience in a supervisory role acquired through working in the fund administration, asset management or securities operations, or audit industry.
• Proven track record in the detailed production and review of financial statements, from primary statement and notes through to detailed corporate governance reporting.
• Working knowledge of the Guernsey regulatory regime as it relates to Fund Accounting and Financial Reporting.
• Experience of representing businesses to current clients via presentations etc.
• Contribute to the marketing and sales process to prospective clients via presentations, RFP responses etc.
• Ability to identify solutions to problems across all areas of the business and work jointly with others to implement them.
