We have an opportunity on our HR team at our Columbia, SC site for a Senior Consultant, HR! This role will be an ANCHOR role and will be required to work onsite 5 days a week.
Your Day to Day:
Reporting directly to the Plant HR Manager, this position will be responsible for day-to-day human resources activities to include:
Lead development, implementation and administration of H.R. policies that facilitate desired organizational plans and results. Support employee relations with management and employees by actively participating in identification and resolution of issues. Promotes positive relationships between managers and employees Ensures equitable application of organization policies and procedures while applying sound knowledge of relevant employee relations and applicable state and federal compliance laws. Conducts workplace investigations for employee relations situations such as allegations of discrimination, harassment, Title VII violations, retaliation, misconduct, hostile work environment. and termination determinations. Interfaces directly with government agencies and outside counsel as needed. Contributes to internal projects and workstreams as needed. Identify and recommend methods to resolve problems, update, simplify, enhance, and optimize existing processes, procedures, policies, and technologies. Supports cross functional continuous improvement initiatives. Collaborate with the members of the Human Resources group to continuously identify and improve people programs and processes through building/updating SOPs, process documentation, employee-facing resources and recommending improvements. Under guidance, responds and resolves escalated cases in more complex HR scenarios. Use sound judgment, people and business acumen, and practical experience to support initiatives such as organizational design and change, talent assessment and gap identification, and communication and change management strategies. Participate in development of innovative Human Resource processes which promote communication, collaboration and teamwork. Collect, analyze, interpret and make recommendations based on external compensation surveys and data. Advise management on internal and external exempt and non-exempt staffing processes and ensure timely in and out placement consistent with business operations & EEO goals. Provide leadership and direction to the HR team Maintain visibility with workforce acting as liaison with management and employees.
Who You Are:
Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of HR experience. 10 plus years in manufacturing HR are preferred. PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.Why Westinghouse?
