Job Description

J.S. Held is actively seeking a Senior Consultant for the Construction Advisory Team in the Boston, MA area, specializing in schedule development and maintenance. This position is for a professional who has knowledge or experience with contract and/or change order management, critical path scheduling analysis, preparation of change orders or claims, cost analysis and quantification of damages, review of drawings and specifications, and other engineering and construction-related documents. Prior scheduling experience on active construction in commercial, mixed-use development is highly preferred. Experience in scheduling active highway, heavy civil, rail, pharmaceutical, energy, institution or federal projects is beneficial but not necessary.

The work performed by the Senior Consultant include the development, review, and analysis of construction schedules, job cost reports, labor records, production quantities, earned values, project reports, change orders, contracts, correspondence, estimating and other project records.

Job Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain project schedules in Oracle Primavera P6 Lead coordination with client to engage the development and maintenance of project schedulesEvaluate the quality, progress, and risks of CPM schedulesCommunicate observations on quality, progress, and risks in both verbal and written formatsCreate, maintain, and publish schedule KPI reportsPerform and present schedule delay analysisAssess scope changes to project schedulesCalculate loss of productivity/efficiencyEstimate and/or Analyze labor, equipment, materials, general conditions and indirect costsDetermine escalation cost of material and/or laborEstablish costs of extended general conditions and requirementsQuantify unabsorbed home office overhead costsReview and organize project documentsProduce work products, draft memos, presentations, and reportsTravel as needed to project sites and client offices

Qualifications

Require Qualifications

4+ years experience with construction firms, construction scheduling firm, or a construction claim/dispute firm2+ years experience with responsibility for scheduling assignments using Oracle Primavera P6 Scheduling software or equivalentBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or an Engineering discipline such as Structural, Civil, Electrical, MEP etc.Analytical aptitudes and attention to detailCritical thinking and problem-solving abilitiesEstimating experience preferred but not necessaryBluebeam or other PDF management softwareMicrosoft Office – Intermediate skills required, advanced skills preferredMust live in or near the Boston, Massachusetts area.

Preferred Qualifications

Capability to develop Power BI Dashboards preferredMember Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACEi) preferredMember Project Management Institute preferredRegistration/Certificates a plus:  Oracle Primavera P6 Professional Trained, OSHA 10, PSP, PMP, PMI-SP, PE, EIT, LEED, CSL
