Senior Consultant - Economic Analyst
Description This role is located in ICF’s UK policy research, evaluation and strategy team. The successful candidate will: + Support the delivery of ICF services to our clients in the UK, most commonly central government departments. + Focus in particular on conducting economic appraisal / analysis for projects, including (but not limited to) economic evaluation, business case development, value-for-money analysis, cost-benefit and cost-effectiveness analysis. + Work with colleagues to develop and document the appropriate methodological approach to each project. + Contribute to reports and other written outputs. + Prepare and deliver presentations to clients. + Support capture and work-winning efforts, including making inputs to proposals. + Ensure outputs are robust, impactful and meet our client requirements. + Contribute to initiatives to build our internal capacity and capability in economic appraisal and analysis. + Help us in our mission to have a positive impact on the issues on which we work. The successful candidate will have: + A degree (and probably postgraduate) qualification in economics (or equivalent). + Experience in the practical application of Green Book and Magenta Book value-for-money methodologies in a government, consulting (or similar) environment. Some familiarity with their use in the context of the following policy areas would be an advantage: energy, innovation, environment, water resources, flood risk management, aviation, other infrastructure development. + Experience in carrying out _ex post_ economic analysis and/or constructing _ex ante_ economic models. + An understanding of how use of these methodologies supports decisions in government. + Ability to interpret econometric analysis and the findings from impact evaluations. + Experience of communicating technical concepts to non-technical experts and stakeholders. + Experience interpreting monitoring data in policy environments. + Experience interpreting econometric analysis and the findings from impact evaluations. + Experience of working effectively in multi-discipline teams + Good report-writing skills \#LI-CC1 \#Indeed **About us:** Working at ICF means applying a passion for meaningful work with intellectual rigor to help solve the leading issues of our day.
