Objective of the RoleThe role of Principal Data Scientist exists within the Analytics Onshore and Offshore teams to develop innovative Analytics solutions using Gen AI/ML, Data Analytics and Data Science, Visualization/BI solutions that will generate tangible value for business stakeholders and customers. Stay updated on the latest developments in data science.Person SpecificationQualifications: Superior results in a Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (statistics, engineering, etc.). A postgraduate degree in data science or a related area is preferred.Experience: Expert-level knowledge of Gen AI/ML, Python, BI, and visualization. At least 12 years of relevant experience, including 8+ years in leadership roles. Extensive experience in the insurance sector, leading large-scale data projects, and solving business problems with data-driven solutions.Skills: Proficient in Tableau, R, SQL, Python, and cloud services like AWS. Familiar with data lake platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks) and advanced ML algorithms, including NLP and image processing. Skilled in project management, delegation, and productionizing analytics services.Key Capabilities/Technical CompetenciesMandatory: Ability to lead teams to achieve goals, with expertise in Gen AI/ML, Python, and statistical concepts. Advanced planning and organizational skills with experience in high-level data science capabilities, such as cognitive/AI solutions using platforms like IBM Watson, MS Azure, and AWS. Familiarity with Gen AI concepts.Highly Valued: Understanding of insurance products, market environment, and key business drivers.
