Primary Responsibilities
HDR is currently looking for a Water Resources Senior Consultant for New York and New Jersey for the NY/NJ Water Business Group [WBG]. The Senior Consultant will collaborate with NY/NJ Area WBG staff, client managers, and leadership to support the growth of our practice to new clients while expanding our relationships with key existing clients. The ideal candidate shall have extensive experience in water resources projects, including but not limited to flood plain management and flood mitigation, and shall possess strong relationships with clients and their leadership across the Area. The candidate is also expected to support Project and Initiative advancement via engagement with HDR’s teams locally and nationally.
In the role of Senior Consultant, we’ll count on you to:
Identify opportunities with new and existing clients and position HDR for success by developing innovative and winning solutionsPartner with project and client managers, technical resources, and the client development team to strategically grow our services to new clients as well as expand our capabilities with existing key clientsBroaden HDR’s brand within the local/state and national professional organizationsPerform other duties as neededThis role is being hired as a part-time, 20-hour per week, position. As such, it is anticipated that the selected candidate would work approximately 20 hours per week over the course of the year, with hours fluctuating as needed to complete assignments or tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related disciplineCertified Floodplain Management (CFM) certificationStrong client relationships in New York and New JerseyPreference is given to local candidatesRequired QualificationsMaster's degree in Business Administration or closely related field A minimum of 10 years consulting experience and extensive related expertiseProficiency with MS Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Access and Outlook Excellent interpersonal skills and strong relationship, organizational and follow-up skills An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
