About the RoleThe CoE CD Team is a small yet important part of the Center of Excellence Services Team for one of our key customers.In a dynamic environment, the continuous delivery team members ensure the distribution of the latest version of customer applications. They maintain the automated and continuous delivery architecture built with DevOps, while also improving processes with an agile approach and a mindset focused on continuous improvement. As part of application delivery, this position involves configuration and development tasks within pipelines, scripts, and occasionally on parts of the products, depending on the team member's skill set, to provide a ready-to-use application on the target system.
This role entails significant responsibility, requiring excellent time management, attention to detail, and precision.
Key responsibilitiesThe focus is on production systems where the team coordinates with end users to schedule application deployments at agreed times, minimizing production disruptions. This requires availability throughout the week, including weekends, particularly Saturdays and Sundays.
After an initial onboarding period following regular office weekdays, the role involves agreeing on a shifted workweek schedule. This entails taking days off during weekdays while being operational on weekends, collaboratively ensuring service coverage with other team members. Pre-production and test systems are also maintained according to user needs, often prioritized or automated. Precision and quick problem-solving skills are essential to ensure automated pipelines continue to function correctly.
Key responsibilities of the Senior CoE CD Developer include:
CI/CD Pipeline development: Optimize and maintain YAML templates for build and deployment, aligning with strategies defined by the development team manager for application lifecycle management.
Infrastructure: Manage build agents, target environments, and cloud virtualization.
Documentation: Create, improve, update, and maintain internal and external documentation for the team and end users.
Automation & CI/CD: Design, implement, and enhance pipeline templates and reusable libraries to ensure efficient application delivery.
Tools and Dashboards: Develop tools and dashboards to monitor DevOps KPIs and collect data, driving new research and development for improvements.
Research: Investigate innovative technologies and best practices to propose enhancements and evolution.
Collaboration with other team members is required to maintain system functionality and minimize production stoppages, including conducting health checks on systems.
Essential requirementsDevOps repositories and pipelines, including repository policies on multiple branch repositories and experience with classic and YAML pipelines.
Scripting languages such as PowerShell, Shell, and Python.
Agile development methodologies like Scrum and Kanban.
Source code version control systems such as Git.
Microsoft SQL Server, including T-SQL language query skills.
Knowledge of Azure Cloud Platforms.
