About the Role
An opportunity has become available for a Senior Contract Administrator in either Melbourne VIC, Brisbane QLD, or Sydney NSW for Downer’s Power Projects Team, in its Energy & Utilities business, reporting to the Commercial Director. The Senior Contract Administrator is responsible for drafting, consolidating and negotiating downstream contracts for the Downer Power Projects Team (although may support other projects and contracts from time-to-time). The role involves ensuring the successful implementation and management of downstream contracts, which align with project requirements and organisational objectives. The ideal candidate will envision themselves attending to duties such as:
Plan and lead downstream contract negotiations to establish suitable back-to-back arrangements and compliant agreements in accordance with Downer policies and process; Support tendering activity, including developing tender packages, issuing and managing RFx process, and technical and commercial evaluation of tender responses; Identify, manage and mitigate contract risks to enable the organisation to meet its obligations and maximise opportunities; Build and maintain strong supplier relationships and proactively engage to resolve conflict or other issues; Work with project controls team to ensure cost and schedule information relating to subcontract delivery and key procurement milestones are captured in project budgets, schedules, registers etc; and Partner with bid and project teams to deliver successful project outcomes, including, but not limited to, cost savings, high-level quality and compliance.About You
Tertiary level qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Law or a related field. High level of strategic thinking, relationship management, and technical and commercial expertise in contract law, procurement and project management in a construction environment. Strong experience in the negotiation and administration of sub-contracts. Sound understanding of contract law (particularly construction contracts in AU and NZ), procurement processes and risk management. Ability to work effectively in high-pressure, deadline driven environments. Excellent attention to detail, diligent in ensuring all sub-contracts are clear, accurate, and comply with legal, financial and technical requirements, including alignment with Head Contract.What We Offer
