Senior Contract Management Specialist

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
A Sr. Contract Management Specialist plays an integral role in the Department. Responsible for making timely decisions based on evidence and on merit, within your appropriate authority level, and take responsibility for the results; gathering all relevant information, utilizing an analytical and logical approach to problem solving, and accurately assessing impact of decisions on your own business area and overall. Responsible for identifying solutions to business or operational related issues dealing with existing and new contracts and contract documents due to the fact that the requirement of this position must have a strong understanding of the inner workings of the products and pharma segments of our businesses.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

A professional with an understanding of Contracts Management; resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways. Negotiates with contract customers though the preparation of selected bids, sales contracts, special offer letters, and related documents.Responsible for drafting language in contract documents as directed by immediate Supervisor. Responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the contract documents. Prepares supporting analysis, such as Gross Margin Analysis reports.Ensures that contract documents flow through the defined contracts management process in a timely and accurate manner. Develops relationships and communication with internal contacts, including, but not limited to: Sales, Marketing, Reimbursement, Accounts Receivable, Customer Service, Legal, Data Administration, Credit and other appropriate departments to ensure that contracts are appropriately developed and/or updated. At this level, this position will interact with Sr. level executives within these departments.Responsible for assisting with other duties and programs such as government bids, distributor relationships, regional and national accounts and large joint ventures.Maintains accurate contract logs and reports, including Contract Status and Expired Contracts.Leads specific team projects, as directed. Provides guidance and advice to other employees within the department.Maintains complete, accurate and up-to-date contract records.Develops and masters familiarity with the information systems utilized within the department (MS Office, Sharepoint, ContractPodAi CLM)Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods & techniques for obtaining solutions.Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.Reviews and complies with the Code of Business Conduct and all applicable company policies and procedures, local, state and federal laws and regulations.Assists with various projects as assigned by a direct supervisor.Mentors other staff as applicable.Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION:

On-Site and occasional visits to Madrid office. Candidate must be within commuting distance of Madrid, Spain.
 

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's Degree desirable or at least 3 years in the Contracts Management field required.
 

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

4-5 years of experience in contract management, business administration, sales administration or finance required. With a Master's degree, 2 years of experience is acceptable.Industry and/or paralegal experience helpful.Previous experience in a business environment, preferably in a contracts role.Fast-paced environment; must be flexible and have the ability to re-establish priorities as necessary.Excellent written and oral communication skills required.Strong computer skills a must, including Microsoft Word and Excel. Familiarity with Power Point and relational database packages is also preferred.Strong attention to detail, highly organized.Knowledge of Safe Harbor and Sherman Anti-Trust laws preferred.Strong problem solving skills a must; must be able to develop solutions to existing and new issues based upon a strong background in both contracts administration and the products/pharma businesses.Strong leadership skills, must have the ability to lead teams in an appropriate and professional manner.Strong influencing skills.
