Senior Contract Manager

Reports to the Vice President, Division General Counsel. The Senior Contract Manager will 1.) develop, implement and maintain a contract administration process for the procurement department, leading review and engaging cross-functional teams within the business to make recommendations for negotiation of vendor contracts; 2.) develop and maintain a CLM tool and assist in business improvement processes for the CRM and similar tools; 3.) develop strategies for optimizing business processes around contract compliance and 4.) coordinate with Contract Manager and contract management team for review and negotiation of commercial contracts and development of strategies for contract management process efficiencies. The ideal candidate will have people management experience, advanced skills in contract management and review, advanced negotiating experience, as well as expertise in handling day-to-day contract administration in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will also have experience in development and maintenance of CLM products. The candidate will be responsible for providing excellent contracting services to internal and external customers while effectively managing a high volume of contracts. This candidate is flexible, thinks outside of the box and has a desire to support Clean Earth in future growth opportunities. Responsible for all aspects of contract review and adherence to company standards and escalations as required. **Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions):** + Provide leadership with respect to the monitoring, initiation, and implementation of standardization and/or revision of processes related to procurement and commercial contracts. + Overall responsibility for development and implementation of a contract administration process for the procurement department. + Develop and maintain an empowerment matrix (legal/business playbook) and training documentation for procurement contracts. + Guide procurement department in contract preparation, review, interpretation, negotiation, and administration. + Develop, implement, and maintain procurement contract metrics for management and leadership team. + Directly participate in negotiations with vendors and customers, as needed. + Develop a methodology for tracking/analysis of commercial contract requirements and engaging with operations to ensure Company is adhering to agreements with customers. + Collaborate with Contract Manager and team for review, interpretation, and negotiation of commercial contracts. + Coordinate with Contract Manager team to ensure development and future growth of team. + Develop and implement Company’s CLM tool, including implementation of AI technology. + Support additional projects relating to CLM, CRM and related tools, as necessary. + In-depth understanding of indemnity and limitation on liability. + Collaborate with internal business clients and attorneys on contract requirements. + Conduct training on commercial and procurement contracting process for the associated teams and others as needed. **Basic Required Qualifications:** + Bachelor’s degree in business or legal studies. + Minimum 8 years’ experience negotiating contracts. + Minimum 5 years of experience supervising a contracting team. + Prior experience in the waste or construction industry preferred + Excellent understanding of business management principles and practices + Ability to understand and balance legal requirements with business requirements. + Able to work with and influence Procurement, Sales, Operations, Legal, Risk, and other internal teams as well as external customers. + Ability to communicate with all levels within an organization. + Solid communication, problem-solving and leadership skills + Self-directed with the ability to work on multiple projects with competing priorities and deadlines. + Creative, solutions-oriented thinker with the willingness and propensity to take action. + Sound knowledge in using Microsoft Office products, Adobe Standard or Pro, along with CRM and CLM tools. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Prior experience in the waste or construction industry + Experience in using Salesforce.com + Experience implementing contract lifecycle management systems + Advanced excel skills Clean Earth offers competitive benefits including health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance plans starting on the first day of employment; paid time off, wellness benefits, employee discount program, tuition assistance, and a 401k with company matching.
