Job Description

The Senior Contracts Attorney will support the business units within Genetic Sciences and Clinical Next Generation Sequencing Divisions! This role will collaborate with other colleagues to provide quality and Legal advice and support to the assigned Legal entities, sites and businesses.

The Sr Contracts Attorney will work cross-functionally with GSD/CSD’s Business Development, Licensing, Product Management, IP, Quality, Regulatory, Procurement and Operations teams to facilitate business transactions and handle Legal compliance matters and requests!

 

How Will You Make an Impact?

ResponsibilitiesAct as point of contact for the business units of GSD/CSDDraft, negotiate, and, seek approval for the execution of a range of commercial contractsPerform analysis on legal rights, obligations, and strategies to help the Company achieve its commercial goals and objectives.Develop new and update existing contractual documents and constantly work with the business on improving processes to ensure efficient support.Respond to inquiries and advise GSD/CSD employees on laws and internal policiesDeliver Legal training programs to internal clients relevant to business and contractual matters.Support litigation, IP, M&A, regulatory, employment matters impacting GSD/CSD businesses.Education/ ExperienceJ.D. from an accredited law school.Admission to a state bar/active member in good standing.At least five years of relevant commercial contracts legal experience, preferably including in-house experience, representing life sciences and other relevant regulated-sector companies in either a multinational company Legal department or relevant department of full-service law firProven ability and experience drafting/reviewing/negotiating contractual documents.Ability to tackle problems of diverse scope and moderate to high complexity.Demonstrated ability to achieve positive results through influence, negotiation, and organizational change.Experience advising on the legal consequence of contract terms.
