Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Contract Engineer to oversee the development and management of contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry best practices. This role plays a crucial part in optimizing economic performance and delivering cost-effective contract solutions to technical teams.
Key Responsibilities
Contract Management & Strategy Develop, review, and manage contractual documents in line with company procedures and ethical standards. Provide efficient, high-quality contract services to technical teams. Optimize contract strategies to improve operational and financial performance. Ensure compliance with insurance, HSE requirements, and company policies. Tendering & Negotiation Prepare and maintain a list of qualified contractors and suppliers for market analysis. Lead the full contract lifecycle, including pre-qualification, bid evaluation, and contract awards. Conduct negotiations for terms & conditions, commercial aspects, and risk mitigation. Prepare, issue, and manage tenders, ensuring clarity in contractual responsibilities. Participate in contract committee meetings and approval processes. Contract Execution & Administration Monitor ongoing contracts, ensuring compliance and performance tracking. Support contract renewals, amendments, and claims resolution. Coordinate with legal, finance, insurance, and senior management on contract-related matters. Maintain contract management tools and ensure best practices are followed. Support handover and implementation of contracts across departments. Compliance & Risk Management Ensure contracts align with HSE clauses, industry regulations, and internal procedures. Mitigate risks through thorough contract structuring and negotiation. Support legal teams in resolving claims and disputes. Mentorship & Process Improvement Guide and mentor Contract Engineers to enhance their competencies. Implement best practices from industry peers to continuously improve contract management processes. Qualifications & Experience Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Law, or a related field. Experience: Minimum 7 years in contract management within the Oil & Gas industry. Proven expertise in handling complex contracts, procurement strategies, and supplier negotiations. Advanced proficiency in contract management tools and software. Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. International experience is an advantage.
