Senior Control Management Specialist

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Control Management Specialist


In this role, you will:

Participate in identifying, assessing, managing, and mitigating current and emerging risk exposures within Control Management functional areaProvide risk management consulting to support the business in designing and implementing risk mitigation strategies, business processes, and business controlsMonitor moderately complex business specific programs and provide risk management consulting to support the business in designing and implementing risk mitigation strategiesMonitor, measure, evaluate, and report on the impact of decisions and controls to the relevant business group or functional areaProvide guidance to business groups on the development, implementation, and monitoring of business specific programs to identify, assess, and mitigate riskCollaborate with relevant business group to identify current and emerging risks associated with business activities and operations


Required Qualifications:

4+ years of Risk Management or Control Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or higher. Relevant certifications will be an advantageExperience in automation / advanced excel / reporting will be an advantageStrong demonstrated knowledge of industry standards and best practices around quality assurance, control design, control evaluation/ testing, internal audit and risk management processes


Job Expectations:

Reviewing and enhancing the control inventory framework by harmonizing controls and stabilizing control library

Participate in identifying, assessing, managing, and mitigating current and emerging risk exposures within Control Management functional area

Collaborate with relevant business group to identify current and emerging issues associated with leveraging the control taxonomy

Monitor, measure, evaluate, and report on the impact of decisions and controls to the relevant business group or functional areaEnhance control management capabilities in support of control monitoring, reporting and central program and FL visibilityDevelop and maintain common controls considerations for regulatory requirements to reduce inconsistency/redundancy (I.e., Financial Crimes)Evaluate high/critical issues to determine thematic topics to be highlighted to Senior LeadershipCo-ordinate across central programs to integrate escalation and reporting routinesAssess impact of large risk events, test findings, etc.. on control suites and residual riskPerform ongoing monitoring of control inventory and remediate for inactive and orphan controlsPerform ongoing monitoring of gap controls and issue alignment within prescribed timelinesPerform ongoing monitoring of BG/EFs automated, manual and QA/QC control populationsSupport horizontal automation across BGs/EFs (e.g., Operations)Evaluate the Control Taxonomy under supervision in an effective and timely mannerProvide risk management consulting to support the business in designing and implementing risk mitigation strategies, business processes, and business controlsMonitor moderate to complex business specific programs

Control Design or internal control evaluation experience would be advantageousFamiliar with various quality assurance and quality control techniquesExperience in executing control testing programs, including the development of consistent standards and methodologiesWorking knowledge of industry standards and best practices around monitoring, testing, quality assurance and risk management processesEffective communicator, both orally and in writing, able to ask well-crafted questions and present ideas in a clear and compelling manner, good listener who embraces creative thinking and teamworkDemonstrated negotiation skills, especially with difficult topics when partnering with senior management under supervision. This includes the willingness and ability to question decisions, understand direction and escalate issues, where necessary.Effectively communicates in both written and verbal formats with senior executive-level leaders with limited supervisionSkilled on Microsoft office (Word, Excel, and Power Point)Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, coupled with an ability to translate ambiguous ideas/issues into well-defined plans/solutions with a track-record for delivering resultsDemonstrated ability to deliver high quality output without supervisionEthical integrity and proven ability to serve as a role model by reinforcing and demonstrating to your employees the core values and behavioral expectations contained in Wells Fargo's Vision, Values & Goals
