Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Controls Engineer for an open-ended contract/contract-to-hire position. The initial term is expected to be 8-12 months, with the possibility of extension or transition to a 12-month contract to hire. You will join a team of five, including one manager, another senior controls engineer, and three other controls engineers. Your primary role will involve completing lagging projects and supporting an influx of new projects beginning in the new year.
ResponsibilitiesWrite code from scratch using Rockwell PLC.Design electrical schematics from scratch in AutoCAD Electrical.Program robotics from the ground up using Fanuc.Work with remote I/O, motion control, process control, servos, and vision systems.Utilize SCADA and Ignition, although these are not primary focus areas.Participate in vendor conferences or training sessions as needed.Balance time between desk work and shop floor activities, approximately 50/50, adjusting as project needs evolve.Essential SkillsPLC programming experience with Rockwell PLC.Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical for schematic design.Experience in robotic programming with Fanuc.Knowledge of servos, vision systems, and temperature control.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with SCADA and Ignition.Additional robotics experience.Proficiency with various PLCs.Work Environment
The controls team operates out of a recently renovated second facility with both desk spots and a temperature-controlled shop floor. The work hours are from 7 AM to 3 PM, totaling 40-45 hours per week, with no travel required except for potential vendor conferences or training sessions once a year. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $58.00
