Job Description SummaryProvides expertise in analyzing learning needs, designing & delivery of technical training solutions in the field of industrial controls and automation. Focused on technical training of customer staff of different specialty including operators, technicians and engineers. It does not include Leadership Learning, which falls within HR.

Role involves interaction and collaboration with coordinators, project engineers and customer stakeholders to deliver the training content or make logistical arrangements for training programs. In-depth understanding of customer installed-base, site-specific requirements and target audience is key for success in this role. Strong interpersonal skills are needed to work with own team and with other teams to achieve customer training objectives.

Help develop training talent, preparation & ownership & maintenance of training equipment & content and manuals standards. Participate in auditing of program standards.

Includes trainers and coordinators whose main task is to deliver the training content or make logistical arrangements for training programs. In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

Analyze customer learning objectives and design technical training solutions for controls customers.  Focused on technical training essential for customer teams including operators, maintenance and engineer.  This also involves evaluation of training outcomes through different methodologies such as exams, hands-on workshops, skills checklist and others.  Coordinate with other team members (instructors, coordinators and customer stakeholders) to deliver the training content or make logistical arrangements for training programs.Developing in-depth knowledge of a discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired expertise to execute functional policy/strategy.Communicate and collaborate with colleagues (including project engineers, project managers, testing engineers) to prepare for customer training ensuring all equipment, software and drawings are available for customer training.Handle simulation setup for each class and troubleshoot any issues with training equipment (software or hardware).  Report any potential roadblocks in a timely manner and offer alternatives for customer evaluation.Prepare customized training literature including presentations, books, labs and exams.Provide technical expertise to develop and update technical training programs both internally and externally.Impacts projects, processes and procedures in own field. The role operates with some autonomy, but is focused on execution of activities/provision of advice within an enabling discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Activities require professional judgment, but may require more senior levels of guidance.Utilizes technical expertise and judgement to solve problems. Leverages technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Industrial automation from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Field Service and Maintenance.At least 6 years of experience working on industrial control systems as a field engineer, project engineer or training instructor.

Established project management skills.Strong customer service mindset.  Measure success through the eyes of our customers.Ability to travel for at least 50% of the time within North America.Deep understanding of GE control system including Mark series controls, Excitation controls, HMIs and Historians.Expertise working with Cimplicity, Toolbox, ActivePoint HMIs and virtual machines.Prior work experience on different GE turbines including Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines and Aeroderivative.

The base pay range for this position is $104,200.00 - 173,700.00 USD Annual.  The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 15% performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. ​

*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
