Additionally, when duties and responsibilities of this job change, this job description will be reviewed and updated, subject to changes and business necessity. **Custom Job Purpose:** This position exists to oversee all recruiting efforts and functions for the district. Responsible for advising prospective candidates regarding the hiring process and certification procedures for Polk County Schools and the State of Florida as well as certification procedures. Develop relationships with leadership to ensure ongoing success of recruitment strategies. Represents Polk County Schools at recruiting events locally and nationally. **Essential Functions of this Job** Coordinate all job fairs as well as follow up on prospective candidates. Articulate with colleges and universities throughout the nation, as well as the public for prospective teachers for Polk County Schools. Select and train additional recruiters to represent Polk County Schools at recruiting functions throughout the nation. Responsible for the scheduling of recruitment trips as well as providing all information needed by recruiters including the packing and shipping of materials to appropriate recruiting sites. Maintains communication with School Administrators as to the specific needs for their schools. Coordinates the posting of all teacher vacancies. Provides information regarding the vacancies to prospective candidates. Maintain awareness of demographics of Polk County schools and municipalities. Establish and maintain positive business relationships with communities throughout Polk County. Manages District Green-House Program. Supervise the recruiting team and ensure responsiveness to the needs of the business and continuously improve processes and practices. Collaborates with community partners and other District stakeholders to promote recruitment strategies. Monitor and review quarterly and annual metrics reporting for recruitment. **Non-Essential Functions of this Job** Performs other duties as assigned. **Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:** Thorough knowledge of School Board Policy regarding the overall district hiring procedures. Considerable knowledge of state certification regulations. Knowledge of research and statistical methods including the use of spreadsheets. Strong ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Ability to involve appropriate staff in the planning and implementation of recruiting activities and to apply innovative practices. Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with district, school employees, and the public. Bilingual/biliterate preferred. **Education, Experience and/or Certification/License Requirements** Graduate from an accredited college or university with a bachelor#s degree, master#s degree preferred. Three or more years of HR or recruiting experience in a private sector or school district. Experience in classroom setting, preferred. **Work Context:** Requires sitting and some standing, walking, and moving about to coordinate work. Requires coordinating or leading others in accomplishing work activities. Requires face-to-face discussions and contact with individuals and/or teams. Requires the use of alternative communication systems, such as electronic mail, telephones, and computers. Requires coordination of work tasks to establish priorities, set goals and meet deadlines. Requires work with both internal and external contacts, and with the public. **Physical Environment:** Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. Requires sitting for much of the day, and the ability to lift, carry, move and/or position objects infrequently weighing up to 20 pounds.
