About The Creative Branding Team
The Creative Branding team sits at the nexus of product development, seasonal strategy, creative production and operations; delivering multi-channel customer-facing content that helps to define the West Elm brand.
This team influences and inspires the organization with passion and creativity; pushing new heights of brand expression across all communication platforms including ecommerce, advertising, print, packaging, catalog, and editorial.
Overview of the Senior Copywriter role
As an integral part of the Creative Branding Design Team, the Senior Copywriter role will be responsible for copy and brand voice across all channels, translating seasonal big ideas into compelling and inspirational marketing copy that helps further define the West Elm brand and drive business goals.
Responsibilities
Criteria
Bachelor’s Degree with a focus in Marketing, Creative Writing, Journalism, or comparable work experience preferred. Combined 7+ years of writing experience, ideally for a retailer, agency or brand creative team Experience working within a project management system or managing copy projects from ideation to execution Ability to think conceptually, ensuring creative tone/voice support the brand voice and key objectives of the season—and are appropriate for all channels Partner closely with junior copywriters and freelance copy support Strong writing and editing skills Proficient writing for both print and digital, and able to tailor copy to a given channel or placement Self-starter, able to stay focused in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Excellent organization and prioritization skills, ability to handle multiple projects across several seasons/packets/channels Teamwork, project management skills, and creativity a must Possess a creative, positive and flexible attitude Experience or interest in home decor or design preferred Ability to perform work onsite in the Brooklyn office

The expected starting pay range for this position is $90,000.00-$110,000.00. Applicable pay ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. In addition to competitive pay, compensation may include a variety of other components like benefits, paid time off, merit, and bonus opportunities.
