PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Senior Accountant, Corporate Accounting, plays a key role in supporting the Controller’s group to ensure the integrity of financial statements for a multi-billion-dollar organization. Responsibilities will include, with but not limited to, corporate accounting tasks (journal entries, account reconciliations, report creation, research and analysis, etc.) supporting the financial reporting and audit processes, maintaining financial records, ERP Stewardship, ensuring compliance with regulations, including an intermediate level of understanding of GAAP and general accounting concepts, and supporting the accounting department's daily operations and ad-hoc projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
Accounting Operations and Close ProcessWork with business partners and plant accounting staff to prepare journal entries, prepare supporting schedules, and reconciliations for all month-end close processes.Perform corporate month end close activities, including uploading interface journal and allocating entries for multiple legal entities, maintaining journal entry log to ensure journal entries are filed and contain proper accompanying documentation and authorization sign-offs, and complete reconciliations of GL accounts and support schedules.Possible areas of responsibility for preparing journal entries and reconciliations could include intercompany, insurance and related accounts, incentives, legal accruals, etc. Responsible for maintaining the chart of accounts in the appropriate accounting & supporting systemsProvide support to supervisors via research, running reports, and the budget and forecast process for corporate departments.Financial Reporting & ComplianceAssist in preparation of schedules for financial statements, monthly consolidation, monthly management reporting process, variance investigation, etc.Ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirementsProcess ImprovementAssist in the implementation of the new ERP systemIdentify opportunities for improvement, develop improvement and implement upon proper approval from leadershipOther tasks and responsibilities as assignedSUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Bachelors’ degree in accounting or similar from an accredited institution.CPA or CPA track highly preferredEXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Minimum of 5 years in a large company-fast paced environment (revenues > $2Billion); or 2 years public accounting, 2 years industry in large company environment (revenues >$2Billion) preferred.Experience in a manufacturing environment preferredExperience in ERP systems required; recent experience in Oracle, M3, or Adage highly preferred. Must be comfortable with fast-paced environment with daily changes in priorities, multi-legal entity company, including significant general ledger experienceMust be a self-starter and take imitative and own projects and areas of responsibilityStrong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.Intermediate to advanced excel skillsExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
