Senior Corporate Counsel 1 - Privacy

We are looking for an experienced negotiator and pragmatic problem solver with a passion for,

and experience with, privacy, security, and technology. You must have superb verbal and

written communication skills, and be adept at navigating complex and nuanced data protection

issues in a strategic manner. This is an in-person role and can be based in our Atlanta (GA),

Dublin (CA) or Bellevue (WA) locations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Draft, negotiate, and close privacy and data protection agreements with enterprise customers, including customers in highly regulated industries, such as financial services and healthcare 

Work closely with global sales and partner teams on transactions that drive the company’s revenue

Support commercial attorneys on data protection issues in negotiations 

Partner with the security team on security-related issues in negotiations

Work well in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment

Maintain understanding of new and evolving data protection regulations

Develop and deliver training on data protection issues and contract templates

Provide sound advice and guidance on legal and business-related issues to senior business leaders

Support continuous improvements of templates, policies and processes to help streamline, simplify and automate the contracting processes

REQUIREMENTS:

7+ years of commercial legal experience, preferably in-house with a successful, high-growth enterprise SaaS company, with 3+ years emphasis on privacy and/or security 

Excellent negotiation skills with large enterprise customers

Knowledge of worldwide data protection regulations, including GDPR and HIPAA

Knowledge of financial services regulations, including GLBA and 23 NYCRR 500

Working knowledge of SaaS industry cybersecurity concepts and security certifications

Exceptional organizational, project management, and prioritization skills

The ability to think and execute both strategically and tactically

Outstanding written and oral communications skills

Experience scaling sales and legal processes and policies for a rapidly growing organization

The ability to work with a wide variety of people, at all levels in the organization, in a fast-paced environment

Service-oriented, professional and strong integrity

The following represents the expected range of compensation for this role: The estimated base salary range for this role is $162,000 - $225,800.Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Snowflake’s bonus and equity plan.

The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location.
