REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Corporate Finance functions to serve as the support to Business Unit Finance leads, Corporate Business Unit leads. Although there are no direct reports, there may be occasions to provide supervision for Corporate Financial Accountant positions.
POSITION SUMMARY
Performs at a high level of professional competence in general or cost accounting work including recording, classifying, examining, and analyzing data and records of financial transactions utilizing the principles of accounting. Job responsibilities include a variety of financial duties that support data collection, analyses, report(s) development, periodic audits, and monthly financial closing process. Responsible for monthly financial statements produced in accordance with GAAP for a group of operational entities. Prepares special project analysis including summary reporting. Achieve subject matter expert status when the need arises. Conduct research and resolve business unit inquiries for assigned functional areas. Perform variance analysis and research and communicate explanations. Provides timely accurate financial information supporting Senior Financial Leadership, as necessary. May oversee projects and coordinate activities of less senior finance colleagues. Partners with other departments to promote operational efficiency and to maximize customer service.
ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Prepares/records monthly journal entries and account reconciliations. Prepares P&L statements, balance sheets, and other financial reports or statements for a portfolio of business units.
2. Analyzes records of financial transactions to determine trends and to identify reasons for significant variations from standard, planned or prior year’s performance.
3. Builds good working relations with and provides support to facilities, operators, finance teams and other departments to ensure a timely and accurate flow of information.
4. Presents analyses to satisfy internal and external requests, with appropriate comments, to managers and others for inclusion in broader studies.
5. Has led one or more functions having a higher degree of complexity and has a knowledgeable understanding of the process(es) and reporting related to it.
6. Assists with internal control monitoring and testing and is proactive in identifying internal control improvements. Assists with interim and year-end audits and Form 990 preparation as needed, including preparation of supporting work papers.
7. Works with management and team members to implement process improvements and complete tasks in a timely and efficient matter.
8. Assists in training and reviewing work of other accounting staff.
9. Experience leading or co-leading a project.
10. Ability to work independently with high level of initiative. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
11. Demonstrated ability to anticipate and address questions from all levels. Ability to identify issues and recommend solutions.
12. Supports deployment of technology by engaging in design and development of new systems or newly interfaced systems.

14. Attends and participates in scheduled in-service programs and staff meetings and represents Corporate Finance in interdepartmental meetings.
