Senior Corporate Law Clerk

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Legal, Compliance, and Public Affairs team at Marsh McLennan. This role will be based in Toronto, and it is a hybrid role with a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

As a Senior Corporate Law Clerk, you will be a member of a small, collegial legal and compliance team that supports Marsh McLennan’s businesses in Canada, including, Marsh Canada and Mercer Canada as well as functional areas including Human Resources, Finance, Real Estate/Facilities and Compliance.  This position reports to the Assistant General Counsel for Canada.  

We will count on you to:

Review, negotiate and draft client engagement letters, RFP responses and non-disclosure agreements.Manage Federal and Ontario government security clearance programsCorporate Secretarial support for the portfolio of entities, includingMinute Book managementDrafting resolutionsAnnual corporate returns and filingsLicensing mattersLiaise with global colleagues on corporate governance matters

What you need to have: 

Minimum of 3-5 years of corporate clerk experience at a major law firm or corporate legal department, with the willingness to provide a broad range of legal support in a rapidly paced businessMember of the Institute of Law Clerks of OntarioExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work independently and with colleagues within a team environmentProactive and practical approach to risk mitigation and legal problem solvingDemonstrated project management skills and ability to excel in a high volume environment.Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy in work product
