Senior Cost Accountant
Description Robert Half has partnered with a growing manufacturing company in the Wake Forest NC area to assist them in hiring an experienced Senior Cost Accountant. This is an onsite position that will play a critical role in their industries operations. The position entails a strong emphasis on cost accounting and inventory management, with a responsibility to provide advanced financial analysis of business transactions. The role will also encompass leading cycle activities and conducting ad-hoc analysis for the site, alongside the implementation of actions to improve operations. Responsibilities: • Conduct extensive cost analysis to identify potential areas for cost savings and process improvements • Analyze and reconcile product costs, Inventories, Total cost of production, and cost of sales • Provide assistance in the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cost of production statement • Review and audit production JOBs, BOMs, material costs and labor rates • Assist in the month-end close process, which includes the preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations • Support forecast and budgeting processes, providing analysis on variances between actual results and forecasts • Assist internal and external auditors during financial audits and prepare audit schedules • Create financial forecasts and models for strategic decision-making and sensitivity analysis for the site • Safeguard Capex, depreciation, and disposals. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the manufacturing industry • Proficiency in Standard Cost Accounting practices • Expertise in Inventory Planning and Reporting • Experience with Bill of Materials (BOM) • Understanding of Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) calculations • Demonstrated ability in managing Cost Variance • Solid experience in Budgeting and Forecasting • Proficiency in Variance Analysis • Experience with Month End Close procedures • Strong Financial Reporting skills • Proficiency in Account Reconciliation • Mastery of Microsoft Excel Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
