The Senior Cost Accounting Analyst works within the finance team to provide financial support to business partners to ensure the execution of Forecast and Close tasks. Responsible for developing forecasts, performing month-end close, and analyzing results to help provide management with clear and accurate reporting of business cost performance, risks, and opportunities. Responsible for inventory management and controls, reporting and tracking as well as providing support to the annual audit process. Responsible for ensuring overall proper cost financial controls are maintained. This position develops analytical, decision-making, and communication skills and fosters a deep understanding of the manufacturing and supply chain systems and processes.
ResponsibilitiesResponsible for forecast and close activities, including developing the annual budget, quarterly forecasts, and monthly closes related to logistics and product cost. Investigate and understand variances in plansEnsure that corporate policies, guidelines and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles are adhered to across the inventory and cost accounting process Oversee and monitor cost savings tracking and reportingActively participate in discussions regarding key commodity planning assumptionsReconcile inventory accounts and provide critical insights into the Product Supply Balance Sheet reporting (Inventory, Reserves, etc.)Support the standard costing process, including maintaining periodic cost rolls/annual updates. Ensure the use of consistent methodology and provide insights and analysis of the key drivers of changeConsistently demonstrate active financial leadership by partnering with cross-functional partners within Operations, Finance, etc., to drive business results and meet business objectivesActively contribute towards business goals by providing insightsInventory accounting and controlsLeadership of small finance team Qualifications Minimum 5 years of related experience with some exposure to cost accounting and finance requiredBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business required or equivalent experienceStrong understanding of cost accounting and finance concepts requiredDemonstrated leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skillsExcellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)Demonstrated ability to interact, influence effectively, and communicate with multiple levels of the organizationPreferred Consumer Packaged Goods or Manufacturing industry experienceQAD or Sage financial reporting system experience a big plus
