Summary: Goldbelt CP Marine is seeking a Senior Cost Estimator to support the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) in Norfolk, VA. Responsibilities Essential Job Functions: Develop detailed cost estimates for projects based on analysis of project plans, specifications, and other relevant data. Review and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements and cost implications. Analyze historical data, industry standards, and market trends to provide accurate cost projections. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather information and clarify project requirements. Prepare and present comprehensive cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, overhead, and profit margins. Evaluate and incorporate subcontractor and supplier quotes into overall cost estimates. Identify potential cost risks and develop strategies to mitigate financial impacts on projects. Ensure estimates are consistent with project scopes, specifications, and contractual requirements. Assist in the preparation of bid proposals, including cost breakdowns and justifications. Monitor and track project costs and compare them with estimates to identify variances and recommend corrective actions. Perform other duties as needed. Qualifications Necessary Skills and Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of cost estimation principles, techniques, and tools. Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present estimates and financial information clearly to stakeholders. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree At least 10 years of experience cost modeling. Ability to travel up to 50%. Must be a US citizen.
