National Grid is hiring a Senior Quantity Surveyor, Quantity Surveying for Massachusetts. This is a Hybrid Role - Must live within a commutable distance to one of our locations

Job Purpose

The New England Electric Contracts and Commercial team manages, supports, and monitors contracts and contractual relationships for outsourced complex and non-complex electric construction contracts for National Grid.
 

Key Accountabilities Supports project teams in supporting bid project development, cost management, negotiation, and dispute resolution to ensure the annual electric capital construction workplan assigned to contracted resources is effectively and efficiently delivered.  Leads project Change Management effort. Review change orders for contract compliance, pricing accuracy, timely submission, and proper supporting documentation.     Fosters relationships with external contractors along with internal stakeholders including but not limited to Construction, Project/Program Management, Procurement, Engineering, Safety and Emergency Planning  Supports efforts to ensure contract compliance, prudency, assurances, and contract performance through the lifecycle of Electric Utility Projects.  Supports internal initiatives for process and operational improvements within the department Support the New England External Line Resource Unit during weather events 

  

Qualifications A bachelor’s degree is preferred  2-3 years of experience in contracts, construction, construction management, project management or engineering within the electric utility or similar technical industry required 2-3 years or negotiating contracts and change order to achieve value 1-3 years of estimating background is preferred  Procore experience preferred Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Power BI, MS Teams, SharePoint, Power Point, Excel and Word required   Valid driver’s license required

Salary - $107,000 - $126,000

This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
