Position Information
Building on Transdev’s purpose and values, the Senior Labor Counsel, will act as a member of the Corporate Legal Department with a concentration on Traditional Labor Law matters across assigned divisions of the Company. This role will be responsible for leading negotiations of collective bargaining agreements in the assigned region, conducting arbitrations under and managing NLRB charges arising from those agreements, and providing general advice and counseling to business clients on traditional labor issues. Experience leading bargaining negotiations and familiarity with AAA and FMCS is necessary for success in this role. This role will require travel throughout assigned divisions within the U.S., based on business need (approx. 30%).
The annual salary range for this role is $160,000 to $200,000

Responsibilities
Union Contract Negotiations
Provide direct support to collective bargaining and serve as chief spokesperson during collective bargaining negotiationsWork with business unit leaders to develop negotiations strategy, including drafting of proposals & counter proposals with a high attention to detailOversee the daily administration of multiple collective bargaining agreementsResearch various Federal, State, and Local ordinances that may be applicable to collective bargaining negotiations
Advice and Counsel
Responsible for providing legal counsel and advice on traditional labor law matters which includes significant amounts of negotiating and renegotiating collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) Prepare and develop labor relations training, including best practices on policies and procedures to minimize grievances, and foster good union-management relationsProvide advice on internal investigations, including recommendation for discipline and other appropriate actionsAssist with special projects and serve on cross-functional teams
Labor Arbitrations
Represent the Company in grievance labor arbitrationsPrepare post-hearing briefs, positions statements, legal memoranda, and other papers on labor mattersManage and track labor arbitration docketWork with business unit to settle union grievances, including preparation of Last Chance Agreements, Memoranda of Understanding, and attend grievance resolution meetingsNational Labor Relations Board (“NLRB”) Practice
Represent the Company before the NLRB, including handling of Unfair Labor Practice Charges, Union Representation Petitions, and Unit ClarificationsProvide proactive training and advice related to legal and regulatory developments in accordance with the National Labor Relations ActRequired Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and J.D. from an accredited law schoolLicensed to practice law and a member of good standing of the state bar in which the candidate residesMinimum of 8+ years of relevant experienceRequired Skills
