What is the opportunity?
You will be a Senior Counsel in the Trading Legal team for RBC BlueBay Asset Management.
What will you do?
Assist the head of Trading Legal to support the functions of Trading Legal.
Draft, negotiate and execute derivative documentation and other ancillary documents for new and existing RBC BlueBay funds / segregated accounts.
Practice management and tracking of matters.
Take lead in weekly calls with transition team.
Provide support to junior member of the Trading Legal team.
Record-keeping and service owner assistance.
Assist in the communication and / or legal support within the firm, across teams, clients and counterparties.
Get involved in major projects (Trading Legal and regulatory).
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
A solid understanding of the buy-side and derivative documentation with at least 6 years relevant experience.
Strong drafting, negotiation and organisational skills with attention to detail.
Act with integrity and client-focused.
Ability to multi-task and “can-do” attitude with a proven track record working in a fast-moving environment.
Motivated self-starter with ability to accomplish tasks with limited supervision and commercial awareness.
Ability to review contracts for relevance / core information purposes.
Nice to have
Drafting skills.
Familiarity with fund structures.
Ability to collaborate with external Counsel.
