What to expect

In this role you will:

Draft, review, and negotiate company contracts, including complex international contracts

Support complex multi-stakeholder projects, ensuring a holistic transversal view

Complete legal activities, offering sound legal advice and recommendations to support Swift's operations and ensure adherence to legal obligations

Undertake specific legal studies to investigate and propose guidelines, minimizing company exposure

Draft policies and develop business processes and frameworks at a systemic level

Provide legal advice and maintain expertise in relevant areas of law, such as commercial laws, financial and banking laws, digital technologies, licensing issues, and financial regulatory matters. This will help identify any potential effects on Swift operations

Participate in risk assessments, identify legal risks, controls and mitigating actions

Liaise with management, staff, customers, suppliers, and public administrations to ensure effective communication and collaboration

Participate in claims and litigation procedures

Coach and mentor less experienced colleagues, encouraging a collaborative and inclusive team environment

Undertake administrative tasks within the department and serve as an effective back-up for colleagues

Proven ability to handle complex multi-stakeholder legal issues, projects and contracts independently. Strong project management and organizational skills

Experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex, high-value, strategic international contracts

Ability to identify key legal risks and propose risk-mitigation strategies and legally compliant solution

Ability to advice business stakeholders in complex and uncertain situations

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage in a diverse multicultural environment and respect different views.

Flexibility, readiness to learn, and a team player mentality

Experience in coaching and mentoring colleagues 

Preferred qualifications:

LLB, LLM, must be qualified to work as a lawyer in the EU country of residence

Minimum 10+ years of experience in private practice or as in-house counsel, working with or in the financial/IT/FinTech industry

Experience in EU and international commercial, banking, financial regulatory and anti-trust matters.
