Role/Responsibilities
Moody’s is looking for a senior privacy counsel to support its Global Privacy Program with primary responsibility for the Americas region. Moody’s has a multifaceted data privacy domain comprising not only HR, vendor, marketing, and website data, but also diverse client offerings including SaaS-hosted products, data matching services, and data brokerage. The role will need to operate proactively to support day-to-day privacy operation matters globally.
Responsibilities
Act as primary contact for all privacy queries for the Americas region. Moody’s has legal entities and customers across North and South America. Support Moody’s Global Privacy Program, comprised of its external-facing privacy disclosures, regulatory notifications and registrations, customer and vendor contracts, statutory records of processing, data transfer and data impact assessments, and internal-facing policies and procedures, training and awareness, new product review processes, data incident tracking, and comprehensive privacy advice and guidance to Moody’s Corporation and all its wholly-owned affiliates.Advise on day-to-day routine business queries, such as disclosing employee data, direct marketing campaigns, contract amendments, data incidents, and new product privacy by design and default reviews. Advise on specific projects, such as impact analyses of new laws, M&A due diligence and integration efforts, regulatory enquiries and litigation.Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school, strong academic credentials, and admission to at least one state bar association.At least eight years of relevant experience at a leading law firm and/or in-house at a financial services or technology company. Expert knowledge of US state and federal privacy, direct marketing and data breach laws. Comfortable supporting a global program and advising on, or coordinating local counsel advice for, non-US North and South American privacy laws.For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is [[$141,000 - [[$204,450, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
