Senior Counsel - Conduct Risk Management

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Counsel to join the Conduct Risk Management Team within the Wells Fargo Legal Department.  As a highly regulated and sophisticated financial institution, Wells Fargo has a number of functions and programs designed to support ethical conduct and identify, investigate, and mitigate employee misconduct.  Conduct Risk Management Legal provides advice and counsel to Front Line and Second Line functions on matters relating to employee conduct, including allegation management, investigations, ethics, conflicts of interest, customer harm, sales practices, and insider threat. This position will support multiple conduct-related programs, including but not limited to: 1) two key post-allegation functions, Root Cause and Customer Impact; 2) the conduct training and development teams, which develop policies, procedures and training for investigative and post-investigative functions; and 3) the Loudspeaker program, which helps drive transformative change firm-wide through employee feedback.

In this role, you will:

Provide day-to-day legal guidance to Conduct Management, the Enterprise function handling all aspects of employee conduct.Advise on the development, implementation, and interpretation of the company’s Code of Conduct, related conduct policies and procedures, and learning materials to utilize these procedures.Partner closely with the Wells Fargo Loudspeaker program team to identify risks, opportunities, solutions, and to develop best practices in addressing complex issues.Support conduct-related programs, regulatory change initiatives, policy updates, reporting and training.Lead or participate in moderately complex initiatives and deliverables, complete in-depth evaluation of variable factors, and act as a key participant in large-scale planning.Build partnerships with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers in the businesses and enterprise functions, to influence decision making, priorities, address legal and risk issues, and change necessary to develop and implement risk management programs and meet the Company’s goals.Collaborate across the Legal Department on conduct initiatives and privileged investigations.Share information across the Legal Department to enable an integrated and strategic legal perspective on conduct issues across the company.Review and advise on legal risks and compliance gaps.Promote consistency of processes, communication, development, and integration of conduct programs to meet expectations for conduct related issues.Independently resolve moderately complex issues and lead team to meet deliverables.Identify and analyze complex legal and regulatory issues, develop conclusions and make recommendations for issue resolution.Lead projects, teams or serve as a mentor for less experienced team members.

Required Qualifications:

4+ years of Law experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.Active State Bar membership or the equivalent in a country outside the United States.

Desired Qualifications:

A background supporting allegation management or investigative functions.Experience advising on employee conduct programs and topics such as ethics, conflicts of interest, root cause, customer impact, and insider threat.Ability to analyze legal and regulatory issues and provide effective advice to clients on complex legal matters.Adaptability, open mindedness, and the desire to take on new challenges.Ability to influence, partner, and negotiate with stakeholders, including senior business leaders, to achieve consensus and accomplish business goals.Ability to effectively drive results, provide feedback and direction, and manage and build relationships with leaders, business partners, and team members in a geographically dispersed team environment.Ability to lead during times of ambiguity and change.Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.Proficiency in time management and organizationCollaborative workstyle that prioritizes developing relationships and forging partnerships

Pay Range
 

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.

$120,400.00 - $250,000.00
