As Senior Regulatory Counsel, you will tackle a range of cutting-edge matters for Pinterest and will help the company build and maintain relationships with content-focused regulators in Ireland, the UK, and the rest of the EU. You’ll work with our Trust & Safety, Engineering, Product, and Public Policy teams to evaluate and provide strategic feedack to regulators in a dynamic and developing legal landscape governing user generated content. You’ll also help defend the company in Ireland, the UK, and the rest of the EU regulatory enforcement and litigation matters, and advise on implementation of global content regulations.
What you’ll do:
Build and maintain strong relationships with Pinterest’s UK, Irish, and EU content regulators. Respond to requests for information from global regulators and defend the company in regulatory enforcement matters and litigation. Provide specialized legal guidance to cross-functional partners and other members of the Legal team on intermediary liability and content-related issues. Work closely with Public Policy, Communications, and cross-Legal teams to evaluate applicable laws, globally, including through the drafting of consultation responses to new laws. Monitor ongoing developments in legislation, case law and regulatory guidance relating to content laws and regulations.
What we’re looking for:
Qualified to practice law in the jurisdiction where you reside. At least 5 years of post-qualification experience counseling on content issues at a law firm or in-house; experience working for a regulatory body is a plus. Experience with implementation and compliance with global content laws, preferred. Exceptional judgment and impeccable integrity with excellent communication and client-service skills. Eagerness to learn with a strong desire to embrace an entrepreneurial, flexible, and collaborative working style. Experience leading and multitasking on competing projects and priorities in a fast-paced work environment. Quarterly travel to Dublin and within the EU, as well as yearly travel to the United States.
In-Office Requirement Statement:
We let the type of work you do guide the collaboration style. That means we're not always working in an office, but we continue to gather for key moments of collaboration and connection. This role will need to be in the office for in-person collaboration 1-2 times/quarter and therefore can be situated anywhere in the country.
