Senior Credit Controller

The main purpose of your role will be to provide accurate accounting administration and cash flow management regarding quality, quantity, and adherence to delivery dates concerning insurance business with Allianz Commercial clients, local brokers, and insurers. Additionally, you will manage payment transactions and bank account reconciliation. In this role, you will report to the Head of Finance Operations Central & Southern Europe and Latin America.

Some of your specific responsibilities could include:

Coordination, Clarification, and Balancing of Accounts:

• Ensure that all accounts receivable/payable are settled and collected according to agreed terms of settlement.

• Identify and analyze discrepancies in accounts, working closely with Underwriting and brokers to ensure accurate booking and timely resolution.

• Establish and maintain an abeyance system and recommend write-offs where applicable.

Processing:

• Perform credit control functions and related account reconciliations.

• Execute settlements with brokers and insurers, particularly focusing on outstanding balances of Allianz Commercial.

• Accurately account for all collections, booking in the GL, and preparing monthly reconciliations and journal entries.

Governance and Quality Assurance:

• Document application of policies, procedures, and workflows for your area of responsibility.

• Archive records to satisfy audit and statutory requirements.

• Draft standards to improve quality and efficiency.

Collaboration and Customer Service:

• Work collaboratively with various functional areas, including Operations, Accounting, and Claims, to establish processes, booking flows and accuracy controls.

• Liaise with third-party collection agencies.

• Maintain collaborative relationships with external brokers and provide timely, professional customer service.

Project Work:

• Participate in project work contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

What You’ll Bring to the Role

• Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline, or or qualified by experience in related discipline.

• Credit Control and or insurance Operations experience is an advantage

• 3 years of professional experience in reinsurance, P&C insurance, or asset management.

• Proven understanding of standard accounting principles (GAAP & IFRS) for insurance and reinsurance.

• Good understanding of insurance financial statements and performance measurement, including drivers.

• Comprehensive knowledge of local GAAP, IAS / IFRS, Regulatory, Tax and other relevant requirements with regards to reporting, compliance and declaration.

• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills to effectively analyze data and convey messages clearly.

• Ability to handle complex processes (closing, reporting, finance operations) and understand data flows.

• Experience in project and teamwork within an international and dynamic environment.
