Rabobank’s Credit Risk team provide independent pro-active risk management within the second line of defence. Rabobank’s Credit Risk team has an opening for a Senior Credit Manager, Credit Approvals. This is a people leader role reporting to the Head of Credit Approvals, Australia.
As Senior Manager, Credit Approvals, you will play a crucial role in maintaining risk appetite, governance, & direction of the Bank’s rural loans within the Country Banking network Your influencing skills will be leveraged with front office staff at all levels in setting the conditions on which loans are to be approved &/or supported to higher authorities including Credit Committees.
This role will support the portfolio for Victoria, Tasmania & Western Australia the successful candidate can be based in either Sydney, Melbourne or Perth.
Top Role Accountabilities:
Act as a trusted advisor to the first line on credit applications & account management strategies to a range of stakeholders including rural banking staffAssess credit submissions & reviews & provide feedback to rural banking staff of the decisionApprove loans within your delegation, aligning with the bank’s credit risk appetiteGuidance, coaching, development a small team of direct reportsManage the day-to-day credit approval volumes to ensure efficient & timely turnaroundOversee credit-related account administration including account excesses, overdue reviews, account quality classificationIdentify & address credit training gaps within your team & the front officeContinuously review & improve credit processes for operational efficiencyTo be successful you will have:
Experience in banking, with exposure to lending in Rural/Agricultural or Middle Market Commercial sectors. Exposure to Credit decisioning in these sectors essentialProven leadership skills in managing, coaching, & developing a small teamStrong financial analysis skills, with the ability to analyse & interpret balance sheets, profit & loss, & cash flow statementsAn understanding of valuation principalsExpertise in credit writing, case presentation & technical credit principal knowledgeAn ability to influence key stakeholders at all levelsExcellent written & verbal communication skills, with a knack for building collaborative relationshipsA continuous improvement mindsetOur Values
