Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers our cloud services. As a **Senior** **Critical Infrastructure Network Engineer** , you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of Microsoft’s cloud infrastructure.
**About the Role**
Joining the newly created **APAC Critical Infrastructure Network Team** , you will be responsible for building core regional capabilities that unlock and accelerate Microsoft’s data center growth across the Asia and Pacific regions. You will collaborate with a passionate and motivated team, embracing a **NetDevOps culture** to deliver customer-centric solutions and drive operational excellence.

**Responsibilities**
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Drive automation through the adoption of DevOps practices, including automated testing, validation, and telemetry pipelines.
+ Familiarity with cloud-scale networking technologies and architectures.
+ Develop and implement scalable, high-performance, and cost-effective network designs.
+ Lead cross-functional architecture and code reviews and ensure designs meet functional, performance, and security requirements.
+ Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support data center and network site development.
+ Analyse incident data, traffic trends, and telemetry to proactively address operational needs and improve network resilience.
+ Participate in a **follow-the-sun on-call rotation** to ensure 24/7 operational support, driving swift incident resolution and ensuring high availability across Microsoft’s network infrastructure
**Qualifications**
**Required Qualifications**
+ 7+ years technical experience in network design, development, and automation
+ Demonstrated experience in Cloud-scale, large-scale, enterprise-grade network solutions.
+ Demonstrated experience expertise in software engineering and/or network automation, Observability, AIOps and DevOps tools.
+ Familiarity with cloud-scale networking technologies and architectures.
+ Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
+ Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
**Preferred Skills**
+ Proven experience in large-scale network automation, with proficiency in a diverse set of tools and languages (e.g., Python, Ansible, GIT, Azure DevOps) to streamline deployments, enforce configuration consistency, and enhance operational efficiency.
+ Experience driving adoption of NetDevOps practices and tools in networking teams.
+ Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and guide team members.
**Background Check Requirements:**
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
+ Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
**Additional Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 8+ years technical experience in network design, development, and automation
+ OR Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 6+ years technical experience in network design, development, and automation
+ OR Doctorate Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 3+ years technical experience in network design, development, and automation.
+ Possession of Industry certifications within the network Engineering CCNP or CCIE Route & Switch and work with industrial control systems.
