Title: Senior Cultural Resource Specialist/ Project Manager

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Cultural Resource Specialist/Project Manager to lead our cultural resource projects across the mid-Atlantic and beyond. This role offers the opportunity to manage a variety of projects and teams, engage with a variety of clients and agencies, and contribute to our business development through strategic proposals and active professional organization involvement.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage cultural resource projects in compliance with federal, state, and local guidelines. Coordinate effectively with agencies and consult on compliance with the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) and other regulations. Manage project teams and ensuring adherence to schedules and budgets while maintaining high standards of quality. Develop and submit compelling proposals that comply with applicable guidelines while meeting the competitive marketplace. Conduct technical studies in specialized areas such as archaeology, architectural history, or history, based on the candidate’s area of expertise.

Qualifications:

A minimum of a Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Historic Preservation, History, Architectural History, Public History, Anthropology, Archaeology, or a closely related field. A minimum of 7 years (with Master’s) or 10 years (with Bachelor’s) of relevant experience. Compliance with the Secretary of Interior's Professional Qualification Standards in the respective field of expertise. A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed.

Preferred Skills:

Extensive knowledge in one of the following areas: Archaeology, Architectural History, or History. Proven ability to navigate and guide clients through complex regulatory environments, particularly in the mid-Atlantic. Experience in coordinating projects with agencies and consulting parties. Demonstrated project management skills, including team leadership, client management, and financial oversight.
