We are thrilled to present a new exciting opportunity for a Senior CYP Smoke Free Lead to join our dynamic Children and Young People (CYP) team in Lambeth.

 

Are you passionate about making a meaningful impact on the health and well-being of children and young people?  We are looking for an experienced Youth Practitioner to join the Smokefree Lambeth initiative as a Senior Lead, where you’ll take the reins in developing and delivering high-quality, person-centred support that empowers young people to achieve their smokefree goals and prevents the uptake of smoking. Collaborating closely with the renowned Guys and St Thomas' Hospital London Stop Smoking Service, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping healthier futures across Lambeth.

 

This standalone senior role sits at the heart of the CYP Substance Misuse Team, offering you autonomy while being part of a dynamic team led by the CYP Team Leader. You'll have opportunities for joint working, raising the profile of both services, and delivering specialist support to young people, professionals, and stakeholders alike.

 

Where: Lambeth

Hours: 37.5 per week

Full Time Salary Range : £31,529.41 - £33,708.57 per year (based on full time working hours, pro rata for part time)

Allowance:Inner London Weighting of £4,072.06 (pro rata for part time)

Responsibilities

Key Activities:

 

Service Delivery: Oversee daily operations of CYP Smokefree Lambeth, ensuring efficient service delivery in line with contractual requirements. Provide tailored stop-smoking interventions through 1-1 and group sessions, both in person and remotely.Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong partnerships with schools, social care teams, and youth organisations. Represent the service at events and meetings, advocating for the health and wellbeing of CYP.Leadership & Development: Mentor and support staff, including new team members and students on placement. Deliver tailored training to enhance team capability.Community Engagement: Raise awareness of the effects of smoking on CYP through targeted outreach, education, and advocacy.Service Improvement: Continuously evaluate and adapt service offerings to meet the evolving needs of CYP. Address service gaps and barriers by implementing innovative solutions to promote equity and positive outcomes.

 

What we are looking for:

 

Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the harmful effects of smoking and available treatments.Intervention Delivery: Proven experience providing health or social care interventions.Policy Awareness: Familiarity with national smoking cessation policies and priorities.Communication Skills: Strong ability to communicate effectively and engage with stakeholders and CYP.Risk Management: Experience conducting assessments, managing risks, and maintaining accurate records.Stop Smoking Services: Previous experience working within stop smoking services (desirable).Qualifications: National Centre for Smoking Cessation Training (NCSCT) Level 2 qualification (desirable).
