Senior Data Analyst - Dividend Projection, Hong Kong

Our Team
As the Dividend Projection team, leaning on our significant corporate actions data, the projections we make flow into many of Bloomberg’s industry leading products. We provide value to our customers who rely on this information for a wide array of use cases, globally, covering Equities, ETFs and derivative instruments.
What's the Role?
You will be responsible for researching company dividend policies, examining financial statements, and identifying economic and market factors that may impact dividend distributions. Your insights will help shape the data product, offering clients a reliable resource for making informed investment decisions. Given your experience, there will also be an expectation for you to help proactively manage and provide input into the various data initiatives being rolled out for the product. You will work closely with our Data Quality experts and our Engineering teams, leveraging your domain expertise to enhance the product. There will also be opportunities for mentoring junior analysts as well.
We'll trust you to:
Acquire, update and maintain high-quality financial data using various internal systems and proprietary company softwareMonitor and interpret major company and ETF developments and identify themes or trends affecting key market sectorsEstablish and maintain relationships with internal departments throughout Bloomberg as well as external clientsWork with other data and core business groups, such as Holdings Data, Corporate Actions, News and Engineering to help develop and enhance product databases and functionalityAssist our world-renowned client support help desk with escalated client inquiriesWork on complex data projects related to Derivatives, Futures and Aggregate Income Driven data setsDevelop subject matter expertise and derive powerful intelligence – forming the backbone of our Derivatives and Equity functionality
You'll need to have:
Demonstrated a meticulous focus on data quality, accuracy, efficiency and timelines4+ years of work experience in financial data analysisExcellent verbal and written communication skills in Mandarin and EnglishA Bachelor's degree or higher in relevant Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting, STEM, or degree-equivalent qualificationsDemonstrated experience interpreting financial statements; understanding of finance and accounting principles and proceduresStrong attention to detail, proven decision-making ability, and problem-solving skillsAbility to multitask and prioritize effectively, ensuring a high level of accuracy and efficiencyAbility to understand sectoral and economic relationships and apply this to dividend projectingProven understanding of customer service and engagementDemonstrated continuous career growth within an organizationOpenness to learn & assist with various Agile project management activities and wider initiatives across the team
We'd love to see:
Master's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, MBA, or related discipline preferred/CFA designationA high-level proficiency with Microsoft Excel or Python and SQLPrevious work experience with the Bloomberg Terminal, or Bloomberg Market Concepts (BMC) certificationKnowledge of AGILE and a use of workflow tool like JIRA
