Senior Data Analyst - M&A and IPO

Our Team:

Our team is responsible for acquiring and maintaining specific types of corporate actions data, such as M&A, buyback, equity offerings and bankruptcy in order to create comprehensive client experience across the product offerings. Multi-functional collaboration, deep domain knowledge, thoughtful automation, and data management expertise are paramount for our ability to continuously deliver high quality data to our rapidly growing client base. Our data is a key building block in Bloomberg's overall offering, being used by many of Bloomberg's users.

What’s the Role?

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a passion for finance, data, and technology to enhance value from our data products. You will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing Bloomberg's equity corporate actions' database to deliver an industry-leading data product offering. You will be responsible for supporting customer service requests, timely onboarding of corporate action data You will collaborate closely with distributed team members and business partners, handling priorities of different initiatives and using your deep understanding of fast changing market dynamics and client needs to ensure data is fit for purpose, discoverable and ready to use. Your geographical coverage is mainly APAC region with strong focus on Japanese market. You will also have the opportunity to participate in larger coverage expansion initiatives for previously unsupported deal types. This involves performing vital market and analytical research to design sourcing, data ingestion and data quality, as well as working closely with engineering and the business for implementation.

Understand our customers’ needs and markets to ensure the data is fit for purposeUncover opportunities for the data and solution enhancement to better serve clientsProvide industry leading customer service through our Help Desk in both English and Japanese languageResearch new data sets to expand the coverage of our productsCollaborate globally with fellow data analysts, data management professionals and engineering for the development of data and its solutionsBuild and maintain close relationship with M&A and ECM advisors in Japan as well as handle any escalationsYou'll need to have: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Statistics, Business, STEM or related field/equivalent experienceBusiness level English and Japanese in all aspects (speaking, reading and writing), JLPT N1 level or equivalent4+ years of experience working with fixed income, capital markets, and/or corporate actions dataAbility to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team environmentGood communication, attention to detail, and time management skillsCommitment to improving data management through the collection, classification, and maintenance of our dataAbility to take a logical approach and apply critical thinking skills in order to tackle problemsComfortable with a high degree of autonomy, with the ability to handle priorities from multiple internal and external partnersAbility to adapt within a fast-paced and dynamic environmentWe’d Love to See:Experience with Bloomberg’s products or other financial data providers’ productsExperience working in an asset management or investment banking firmExperience in data managementUnderstanding of financial data and its competitive landscapeDoes this sound like you?
