Job Description

Position Overview: The Data Center Facilities Manager is responsible for the efficient operation and maintenance of data center facilities, including the management of smart hands functions, carbon neutral reporting, and procurement processes. You will report into the VP of Information Technology. You will ensure compliance with all company security policies while maintaining a high level of service availability and operational efficiency. You will have a comprehensive understanding of data center infrastructure, and a commitment to sustainability and security.

Responsibilities:

Oversee the daily operations of data center facilities, ensuring performance and uptime.Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for facility management.Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.Maintain physical security and integrity of data center environments.Manage smart hands services, providing on-site technical support for hardware installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting.Coordinate with remote teams and clients to accomplish smart hands tasks.Develop and implement strategies to achieve carbon neutrality goals for data center operations.Monitor and report on energy consumption, emissions, and sustainability initiatives.Create purchase requisitions for data center supplies, equipment, and services.Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effective procurement.Manage the data center facilities budget, identifying opportunities for cost savings and optimization.Provide regular financial reports and performance metrics to senior management.Plan and complete preventive and corrective maintenance activities for all data center systems, including electrical, mechanical, and HVAC.Monitor data center performance metrics to identify areas for improvement..Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to find and address potential vulnerabilities.Develop and implement emergency response and disaster recovery plans for data center facilities.Lead a team of facilities engineers and technicians.Coordinate training programs to enhance team skills.

QualificationsBachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.Minimum of 7 years of experience in data center facilities management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.Comprehensive knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems in data center environments.Experience managing smart hands services and technical support tasks.Experience with sustainability practices and carbon neutral reporting.Data Analytics skillsFamiliarity with industry standards and regulations, including Uptime Institute, TIA-942, and ASHRAE.Professional certifications such as Certified Data Center Management Professional (CDCMP), Certified Data Center Facilities Operations Manager (CDFOM), or similar#LI-Remote
