Senior Data Delivery ManagerOverview: We are seeking a Senior Data Delivery Manager to drive the delivery of complex, high-impact data projects within Howden’s Group Data Team. This role demands a strategic mindset, technical expertise, and leadership skills to manage multiple high-priority projects and influence key business decisions. You will be instrumental in shaping delivery strategies, optimising team performance, and fostering a culture of excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Delivery Leadership:
· Strategically lead the end-to-end delivery of complex and high-impact data projects.
· Act as a key advisor, bridging the gap between technical and business stakeholders.
· Define and implement metrics-driven strategies, including DORA metrics, to enhance project outcomes.
Stakeholder Management:
· Cultivate relationships with senior stakeholders, ensuring their needs are met and expectations managed.
· Translate technical deliverables into clear business value to secure buy-in and alignment.
· Lead cross-functional collaboration, resolving dependencies and aligning priorities across teams.
Strategic Prioritisation and Adaptability:
· Proactively align project priorities with organisational goals, ensuring flexibility in response to business shifts.
· Assess and communicate the impact of scope changes on delivery timelines, resources, and objectives.
· Focus on delivering maximum value by steering teams towards high-impact initiatives.
Advanced Project Management:
· Anticipate risks and design mitigation strategies to ensure seamless delivery.
· Adapt delivery frameworks (Agile, Scrum, Scaled Agile, Waterfall) to meet project-specific needs.
Project Planning and Financial Oversight:
· Develop robust delivery plans with clear timelines, milestones, and resource strategies.
· Lead budgeting efforts, ensuring accurate cost estimations and alignment with financial goals.
· Monitor financial performance and adjust plans to manage changes or challenges effectively.
Leadership and Team Development:
· Empower teams by fostering a culture of collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement.
· Mentor and guide team members, encouraging innovative solutions and proactive contributions.
Desired Skills and Experience:
· 5+ years of experience in a delivery management role, preferably within a tech or data-driven environment.
· Demonstrated success in delivering complex, high-value projects.
· Expertise in metrics-based performance optimisation (e.g., DORA).
· Deep understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies; experience with Scaled Agile is highly valued.
· Proven experience leading data, analytics, or data science initiatives.
· Strong understanding of the insurance industry is advantageous.
· Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
