What You’ll Do:Builds, manages and implements data pipeline capabilities including data modeling, process design and overall data pipeline architecture and all phases of ETL processes.Leads efforts related to partially to completely automate repeatable data preparation and integration tasks.Partner with technology teams to understand data capture and testing needs, and to build and test end-end solutions.Support and understand data APIs to support on-going and greenfield product initiativesImplement automated data quality checks and monitoringArchitect BI solutions and model the semantic layer for report consumption.Data modeling and data governance concepts of dimensional modeling, data lake.Modern data warehousing methodologies and distributed cloud computing like Hadoop, Hive, HBase, Redshift, MySQL, SnowflakeProvide solutions using SQL, Unix, Python scriptingCollaborate with engineers to deliver complex features across systemsContribute to the overall system design, architecture, security, scalability, reliability, and performance of applicationsStay ahead of new technologies with an eye to evaluating/incorporating them into your team's architectureDesign test the cases and ensure code changes are thoroughly tested and work with the test management teams as requiredLead junior resources on the team and ability to guide them through road blocksMentor junior resources and provide technical guidanceNegotiate technical solutions with both technical and non-technical stakeholdersManage projects and provide and update project plans and status to key stakeholders as requiredSupport production and ON-CALL activities
Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in computer science, bachelor's degree in a STEM field, or equivalent self-study of computer science5+ years of application development experience2+ years of experience in cloud computing5+ years of SQL, Unix and/or Python scripting5+ years of working with RDBMS solutions2+ years of experience using ELT tools such as DBT, Matillion, TalendSolid understanding and application of computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms and design patternsPreferred experience with building and maintaining data lineage across multiple enterprise platforms.Familiar with Data Models and able to architect data marts for reporting and processing purposesWell versed with data modeling and data governance concepts of dimensional modeling, data lake.Well versed with building modern data warehousing methodologies and distributed cloud computing like Hadoop, Hive, HBase, Redshift, MySQL, SnowflakeExperience with common engineering tools such as GIT, JIRA or similarExperience in working in a DEV-OPS frameworkExperience with distributed RDBMS computing like Redshift, Snowflake, MySQL etc.Experience with AWS services Redshift, MySQL, SQS, SNS, S3 is a MUSTExperience with Hadoop Eco System and Spark is preferredExperience working with large data sets and building systems that process large volumes of dataExperience with reporting and business intelligence implementations is a MUSTProficient in providing solutions using SQL, Unix, Python scriptingAbility to document technical designs and specificationsAbility to negotiate technical solutions with both technical and non-technical stakeholders Ability to manage projects and provide and update project plans and status to key stakeholders as requiredExperience in supporting production and ON-CALL activitiesExperience leading junior resources on the team and ability to guide them through road blocks Demonstrated willingness to both teach others and learn new technologiesExcellent communication skills
