Senior Data Engineer

Essential duties include the following:

Designs, develops, and optimizes complex data pipelines using modern data tools like Snowflake, Fivetran and dbt (data build tool).Architects and implements data warehousing solutions utilizing best practices for performance and scalability.Works with large-scale data integration, transformation, and ETL processes.Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including Data Analysts, Data Scientists, and Business Intelligence professionals, to support data needs.Manages and optimizes cloud-based data platforms and solutions, ensuring efficient data storage, retrieval, and security.Ensures the quality, integrity, and availability of data through data validation and monitoring practices.Employs industry-standard data tools and techniques, such as version control (Git), CI/CD for data pipelines, and monitoring/alerting for data infrastructure.Implements and optimizes performance tuning strategies for data warehousing and ETL processes.Stays up to date with the latest advancements in data engineering technologies and methodologies to propose innovative solutions.

Serious candidates will possess the minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.Minimum of five or more (5+) years of experience in Data Engineering, with a focus on modern data platforms.Expertise with Snowflake as a cloud-based data warehousing solution.Knowledge in dbt for transforming data within the data warehouse.Advanced knowledge of Microsoft SSIS for ETL and data integration.Strong understanding of Star schema and dimensional modeling concepts.Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Microsoft Fabric) for data infrastructure.Strong SQL skills for querying and optimizing databases.Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.Experience with Python or other scripting languages for data pipeline automation.Knowledge of best practices for data governance, data quality, and security.Experience with additional data engineering tools such as Airflow, Kafka, or Spark preferred.Data pipeline orchestration: AWS Step functions, AWS Lambda, Glue preferred.Familiarity with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) preferred.Knowledge of machine learning pipelines and integration preferred.Experience with DevOps tools (Azure DevOps, Github actions) preferred.Certification in Snowflake or relevant cloud platforms preferred.
