As a Senior Data Engineer in AbbVie Business Technology Solutions (BTS), you’ll have opportunities to contribute to the digital transformation of a leading biopharma company, helping to create solutions that impact patients and their communities for the better. ***This is a hybrid role based in Lake County, IL*** Responsibilities In this role you will be responsible for: + Deep understanding on Data concepts, Data analytics, complex Data structures and Data relationships. + Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technology solutions relevant to the assigned business area. + Advise business stakeholders on the most appropriate and optimal approaches to achieve their objectives, which may involve technology solutions, process changes, or other options. + Create and maintain system and project documentation, such as change requests, functional requirements, test plans, data migration plans, and cutover plans. Delegate relevant tasks to junior analysts as appropriate. + Review data models for development projects and assist team members in understanding and adhering to established standards. + Maintains relationships with affiliates, subsidiaries, and vendors in accordance with Abbvie Values, Vendor Management Office, and Purchasing to further the mission, vision and goals of the organization. + Coordinate and submit ServiceNow requests for new database accounts, permissions, and collaborate with DBAs for approval. + Provide documentation of technical standards and best practices, incorporating contributions from team members. + Collaborate with project development teams on the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) and code promotion process. + Review effort estimates for all activities including analysis, documentation, development, testing, bug fixing, deployment, and support. + Significant Work Activities -Continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hour day) Tools and skills you will use in this role: + Data Analytics + SQL, PL/SQL + Python + Pyspark + Snowflake Qualifications Required: + Bachelor’s Degree with at least 5 years’ experience; Master’s Degree with 4 years’ experience OR equivalent work experience + Excellent programming skills in SQL, PL/SQL, and NoSQL. + Proven experience in working with / implementing a full-scale Data Warehouse/Data Lake solution based on cloud databases such as Snowflake, Azure SQL Database, RedShift, etc. + Experience interpreting data analytic outputs and performing data audits using visualization reports or dashboards such as Qlik, Tableau, Power BI, etc. + Experience using one of the Data Modeling tools such as Erwin Data Modeler, DbVisualizer, Lucidchart, etc. + Experience working in Unix/Linux environments. + Knowledge in Python or R with at least one Data science and Machine learning framework like PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-Learn is a plus. + Ability to gather requirements and develop and prepare use cases, functional specifications, mapping documents for data integration, and technical requirements for data warehouse applications. + Ability to work with IT and business teams to coordinate multiple IT projects in the sales planning area. + Strong written and verbal communication skills.
