ICF - Senior Data Engineer (Scala/Spark)

The Team

Our Health Engineering Solutions (HES) team works side by side with customers to articulate a vision for success, and then make it happen. We know success doesn't happen by accident. It takes the right team of people, working together on the right solutions for the customer. We are looking for a Sr. Data Engineer who will be a key driver to make this happen.

Key responsibilities include:

Develop and maintain cost measuresMake sure Spark/Scala pipelines are implemented properlyWork on GLMs/mixed-effects models and their inner workings across programming languagesDevelop Scala measure implementations based on specifications and sample SAS packs.Work with large amounts of data associated with Medicare ClaimsCommunicate with external partners around requirements

This work affects the quality and cost of care for Medicare and Medicaid patients through the Quality Payment Program. You will be involved in a highly successful team that has a long track record of meeting deadlines and delivering quality.

Key Responsibilities and Job Duties

The position is remote however we work East Coast hours and meetings may start as early as 9:00 AM Eastern Time. Core hours also applySome travel may be required for in-person Program Increment Planning events. Typically, one or two events a yearConsistent JIRA and Confluence useMust attend Scrum Ceremonies and Test Meetings

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree5 years’ experience in Data or Software Development3 or more years working in a Data Engineering role2 years of coding skills in Spark/Scala2 or more years of experience with any SQL dialectCandidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Public TrustCandidate must reside in the U.S., be authorized to work in the U.S., and all work must be performed in the U.S.Candidate must have lived in the U.S. for three (3) full years out of the last five (5) years

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience working with Medicare and/or Medicaid data, especially claims data and familiarity with claims codes (HCPCS/CPT/ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-PCS)Prior experience with Spark/PySpark/SparkR for analyzing large amounts of dataAdvanced SQL querying skills and database management knowledgeWorked with the government previously and has had at least a Public Trust clearanceGit/Github experienceWorked in an agile environmentUsage of Confluence and JiraExperience working on a project using the Scaled Agile FrameworkExperience on a software development team building modern software productsFlexible and willing to accept a change in priorities as necessary

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:

$84,533.00 - $143,706.00
